HAPPY NEW YEAR...
Nothing much promises anything either happy or new for 2006, but that doesn’t stop us all from projecting all sorts of possibilities onto what we prefer to think of as a new year. I do it too. Nevertheless, like the rest of our lives, what we anticipate consists of bits of our past. We selectively recall things and actions and events, then picture ourselves repeating or achieving them again, embellished by imagination. In effect, we tell ourselves stories—typically better stories than the events themselves warrant—about the future. Stories which will atone for, or improve upon, the past. So think up some good stories for yourself about the coming year. Then act in them...

Seats available for the return adventure. Senegal, Angola, Congo, Gabon and Sao Tome & Principe on this year's agenda. You'll need something for chapter 2 anyway won't you?
